Fiona Erskine is an engineer by day and writer by night.
The Chemical Detective (2019) introduced Jaq Silver, an intrepid female engineer who blows things up to keep people safe, and was shortlisted for the SPECSAVERS DEBUT CRIME NOVEL AWARD at Crimefest. The Chemical Reaction (2020) was shortlisted for the STAUNCH Prize. The Chemical Cocktail is due out in summer 2022. The series is published by Point Blank, the literary crime imprint of Oneworld.
Phosphate Rocks: A Death in Ten Objects (2021) is a semi autobiographical account of her first job as an engineer in a Scottish fertilizer factory and is published by Sandstone Press.
Born in Edinburgh, after traveling the world, Fiona’s home is now the northeast of England. She’s passionate about music and outdoor swimming, though not generally at the same time.
