Bay Tales Live is not just about bringing the best crime and mystery writers to the North East. We’re also passionate about supporting local businesses and good causes. This year we’re hoping to help support another excellent initiative – The Bay Foodbank.
Whether you’re coming to Bay Tales Live or not, you can help. And in return, we’ll be thanking a few donors. Interested? Read on…
Whether you’re a reader or a writer we have ‘thank yous‘ to offer if you make a donation of £3 (or more if you want!) via our Kofi Account
Readers
We have a copy of Bay Tales Live Patron Ann Cleeves’ latest Vera novel: The Rising Tide signed by Ann, Vera herself – Brenda Blethlyn and Jon Morrison (DC Kenny Lockhart)

Writers
Are you trying to write a novel? Thinking about it? Done it? Best-selling author Fiona Cummins (When I Was 10, The Collector, Into the Dark and more) has donated her time to provide a 3 chapter critique of your work – whether finished or a work in progress over a 1 hour Zoom Call

PLUS – whether you choose Reader or Writer, we’ll thank one of you with a tote bag featuring some of the very best advanced copies of books coming out in 2023 that we’ll be featuring at our Bay Tales Live show.
We’ll consider ALL donations received until Saturday March 11th before we use a super-duper randomiser to select the donors we’re going to thank with the above prizes.
More About The Bay Foodbank
“The BAY Foodbank began in February 2012 with the fervent hope that we would be helping to meet a short-term need in the local community. Sadly, over 10 years later, we are serving greater numbers of people each year.
Our aim is to provide food in an emergency to individuals, couples and families who find themselves in financial crisis. This is only possible through the support of everyone who helps by donating the food, money and time needed. We thank you for all your help.
A typical day can see us deliver anywhere from 30-50 emergency food parcels. In September 2022 we delivered our 45,000th parcel.”
If you want tickets to join us at Bay Tales Live (see full line up and details here) we have a few left at £36.50 (including venue booking fees) which also gives you access to our fringe events: Noir at the Bar on Friday 3rd March and a recording of On the Sofa podcast on Sunday 5th March: Email us at baytales20@gmail.com for more details or if you have any questions.
