Quiz hosts Alys Cummings and Sarah Knapton are journalists who met while working as crime reporters for a news agency based at the Old Bailey, and bonded during lockdown over watching Poirot and Midsomer Murders. 

Sarah grew up in Whitley Bay and they both now live on the north east coast and host a film quiz at the North East International Film Festival.

Alys’s debut novel, Murder Most Cryptic, will be published by Penguin Michael Joseph in October 2026.
