Noir at the Bay Bar 2026

A fun way to start the festival weekend, Noir at the Bar hosts writers from every stage of their career and asks them to read from their work – whether that is an excerpt from a forthcoming novel, a newly-released book or a work in progress. 

Audience members choose the running order by pulling names from the infamous hat and might even get the chance to win a free book.

Free entry to Bay Tales ticket holders but places must be booked in advance as they are limited. Please also note the venue has two flights of stairs so is, unfortunately, not suitable for those with accessibility needs.
